Safety & Assistance

Volunteers Needed

The SMC Safety & Assistance Team is seeking volunteers to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our church family. Our mission includes providing parking assistance, staying alert to suspicious activity, and offering help to those in need.

Our mission is Biblically based:

"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has given you charge. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood."
— Acts 20:28

We are working to establish four teams, each consisting of a leader and three members, serving one Sunday per month. Currently, we have three team leaders and several volunteers, but additional help would lighten the load for everyone.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Good eyesight and situational awareness

  • Ability to stand and walk

  • Carry your cell phone for communication

  • Wear a provided safety vest for visibility

  • Use a radio to stay in contact with the team

We are not armed or confrontational. Any suspicious activity should be reported via radio and/or 911.

If you feel called to serve in this important ministry, we’d love to have you join us.

If you have questions, please contact Gus Holladay (843-209-6388) or Bruce Bohon (843-729-2096)
